McCracken's web site: http://www.mcgymswim.com Meeting Minutes Booster Club Meeting Fundraising: Flower sales: We sold 555 mums this year, an increase of over 200 from last year!! The total booster club profit is around $xxx.xx!! Chiefs: We have been told that even if you do not have a food handlers license that you may still be able to work concessions at the Chiefs game to raise money for your individual account. Only 65% of the entire stand is required to have a food handlers license. See the binder on the front desk for the Chiefs schedule. Pumpkin Patch: The Pumpkin Patch schedule will be emailed. The schedule is pretty full, but if you want to sign up for a day please contact Melissa Huibsch, we can put you down as a backup if needed. Don’t forget, if you are signed up to work at the pumpkin patch, you must show up or find a replacement!!! The Kick-off-to-a-new-season hotdog dinner will take place the Monday after the first meet in October. The first meet will be on October 25st. Little Caesar’s Pizza sales will begin November 1st. The delivery date for the pizzas is Thursday, December 11th. Professional and College Team Sports Cups: The booster club will be selling these cups in October. The cups come in a set of 4 and will sell for $12. Each set of cups generates a $4 total profit, 15% of which goes to the general account. They will make a great Christmas present. Be on the lookout for further information. Macy’s Shop for the Cause: The due date for these tickets is Wednesday, September 17th. Arby’s: The booster club is checking into a possible fundraiser with the new Arby’s that just opened up. Trash bags: Selling trash bags as a fundraiser will take place around January or February. New Parents’ Orientation Meetings: New parents’ orientation meetings will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at 6:30 and on Thursday, September 18th at 6:00. If you missed these meetings and would like information contact one of the booster club officers or sponsors. Buyout vs. Volunteer Options: The Booster Club officers have determined estimated expenses for the 2008-2009 competition season. The buyout amounts have been determined based on those expenses. The booster club paid over $21,000 in coaches’ expenses and team fees last competition season. Our current fund raising efforts are no longer enough to cover these costs, so we are requiring all competing gymnasts to pay a base fee to offset those expenses. A letter listing buyout amounts and base fees was distributed the week of September 15th. If you do not receive this contact your sponsor or one of the booster club officers. Home Meets: There will be 6 home meets this season. See the mcgymswim Bulletin Board for a list of dates. Concession stands at these home meets are a major source of revenue for the booster club. All volunteer parents are required to work at every home meet. Boys State Meet: McCracken’s will be hosting the Boy’s state meet this year on March 22nd. The booster club will be designing t-shirts for this meet. We would like to involve the gymnasts in this process so we will be holding a contest. Be on the lookout for further information.
